My wife and I have bought a few properties we fixed up and are renting out (well 2 of 3, one is up for sale) this year at the auction on the county courthouse front steps. We ended up using a bid service and paid them a couple thousand dollars per property cause we found out that just because you bid, doesn't mean your going to win... we bid 20 times before we landed one, so the live auction bid service was a great value.
